GDM15OldQueensFallStock005 The Genetic Counseling Master's Program (GCMP) at Rutgers University is a 22-month graduate program for students wishing to pursue a career in the growing and exciting field of genetic counseling. Our training involves rigorous coursework, a variety of clinical rotations offered throughout the state, and a Master's research project. Housed within the Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Program, our program provides students with resources from the School of Graduate Studies, as well as the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. Our dedicated academic and clinical faculty are experienced genetic professionals, representing a variety of specialties. Our students have the opportunity to work with a vast network of talented genetic counselors across the state of New Jersey working in a great variety of professional settings.

Graduate programs at the Rutgers School of Arts & Sciences (SAS) are administered in conjunction with the School of Graduate Studies. Students wishing to pursue a graduate program at SAS must apply to the School of Graduate Studies.

Congratulations to Jessica Rispoli Joines, director of the Rutgers Genetic Counseling Master's Program, for receiving the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching. This honor is awarded annually to non-tenure-track, full-time faculty members who have demonstrated outstanding teaching skills in classroom instruction, clinical instruction, curriculum development, or mentoring.
